TOPEKA, Kan. – Three Washburn attackers hit .500 or better in a 25-15, 25-14, 25-18 win Tuesday night against Fort Hays State at Schendel Court in Lee Arena.

The 13th-ranked Ichabods improved to 24-5 overall and 16-5 in the MIAA. They'll host No. 6 Nebraska-Kearney Saturday at 7 p.m. in the regular season finale looking to earn spot in the eight-team NCAA Central Region tournament. They were eighth last week in the regional ranking and a new ranking will be released Wednesday. UNK was sixth.

Marissa Cox hit .609 with 15 kills and
Mattie-Ann Swenson had six kills and no errors in nine attempts to hit .667 in the match.
Sarah Vicory hit .500 with eight kills and she added five blocks.

The Ichabods hit .330 as a team and kept the Tigers (13-17, 7-14 MIAA) to a .129 attack percentage. Washburn finished with nine blocks while FHSU had four.

Natalie Bates had 32 assists for Washburn and 10 digs for a double-double.
Alyssa Carney led the back row with 15 digs.

Rebekah Spainhour and Sara Hewson led the Tigers with seven kills each and Hewson joined Keanu Bradley with a team-high nine digs each.

Cox will be honored prior to Washburn's match Saturday during the Senior Day ceremony. The All-American rightside hitter is the only senior on the team and she'll enter her final home match 11th in school history with 1,235 kills.
