JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Ichabods led by 17 at halftime after keeping Lincoln to 18 percent shooting in the first half. Eighth-ranked Washburn held on in the second half to win 61-46 Thursday evening at Jason Gym.

Washburn improved to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA and will resume its conference road trip Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindenwood.

Taylor Ignoto led the Ichabods with 19 points. She was 7 of 15 from the field and hit three 3-pointers. She had 11 first-half points to help her reach double figures in the opening period for the fourth time in her last five games. She sat out Washburn's game Monday but has scored in double figures in all nine of her games this year.

Honor Duvall had 13 points and tied
Dana Channel for the team lead with seven rebounds. Channel added five points, as did Ally Nikkel, and
Cindy Demosthene had six points and six rebounds.

Ignoto's 10th point came off a layup with 8:10 remaining in the first half that helped the Bods to an 11-point lead. She scored one more point in the first half and the Bods led 33-16 at halftime.

Duvall then took over in the second half where she scored all 13 of her points. She didn't attempt a shot in the first half but went 4 of 7 in the second half and 5 of 6 from the free throw line.

The Blue Tigers (5-4, 0-3 MIAA) out-scored Washburn by two points in the second half but never cut Washburn's lead below double digits. Lincoln went on a 9-0 run to get within 11 with 13:55 remaining but Washburn answered right away with an 8-0 run to pull away and lead 49-30 with 10:51 left.

Washburn shot 36 percent in the game, going under 40 percent for the first time this year. The Bods defense, however, kept Lincoln to 25 percent shooting. This is the third time this year Washburn, the nation's fifth-best defense, has kept opponents to under 30 percent.

The Ichabods, third in the nation in rebounding margin, won the battle for boards 50-40 against Lincoln.

The Blue Tigers had two double figure scorers. Kate Frazier was 5 of 11 from the field for 14 points and Seleena Neal had 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
