EDMOND, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods had a chance for the game-winner but a 3-pointer in the final seconds missed as Washburn dropped its second-straight game in a 72-70 loss at Central Oklahoma. Washburn will look to snap the slide at Northeastern State on Saturday.

After Central Oklahoma (15-7, 9-6 MIAA) hit a pair of free throws with 10 seconds remaining to take a 72-69 lead, Leon Flowers was fouled with six seconds left where he hit the first free throw and after a Washburn (15-7, 8-7 MIAA) timeout, he intentionally missed the second free throw and Jeff Reid tipped the rebound out to Chris Davis at the top of the key and his 3-pointer missed and UCO grabbed the rebound to secure the win.

Washburn trailed 40-32 at the break, but climbed back into the game as the Ichabods held the Bronchos to 6 of 19 field goal shooting in the second half. Washburn finished the game with four more field goals in the game overall, but Central Oklahoma finished 25 of 35 from the free throw line in the game going 18 of 23 in the second half in the win.

Washburn held the lead at 67-65 with four minutes to play, but UCO outscored the Ichabods 7-3 the rest of the way as they hit 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch hitting only 1 of 3 field goal attempts.

North and Kyle Wiggins led the Ichabods with 11 points and Flowers scored 10. North finished with nine rebounds and Wiggins added a career-high eight assists along with six rebounds. Josh Gibbs led UCO with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Washburn finished 23 of 52 from the field for a 44 percent average and UCO was 19 of 47 overall for a 40 percent clip. UCO outrebounded the Ichabods 34 to 31 overall. Washburn's bench outscored the UCO bench 21-17 as Andy Wilson had a season-high nine points on 4 of 5 shooting in 10 minutes. Stephon Drane scored four points with five rebounds in nine minutes.
