KEARNEY, Neb. -- Washburn was outshot 8 to 1 in the second half as Nebraska-Kearney scored the winning goal in the frame in a 1-0 win over the Ichabods. Washburn will reutrn to action on Friday when Lindenwood comes to Topeka for a 5 p.m. start time.
The teams went into the locker room scoreless after the first half as both teams had two shots. In the second half, the Lopers turned up the pressure in the stanza gaining seven more shots that Washburn scoring the winning goal in the 61st minute wehn Marika Van Brocklin scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Meaghan Pasbrig scoring from 15 yards out.
All three of Washburn's shots were on goal with
Jenna Cunningham,
Bailey Wobig and
Whitney Skinner.
Tori Fuglister had three saves in net allowing the lone goal for the Lopers.
