Leanna Willer had 16 kills and hit over .400 as No. 8 Washburn swept Lindenwood 25-18, 25-17, 25-20 Friday night at Schendel Court in Lee Arena.

Washburn improved to 12-1 overall and 4-1 in the league and will now play its first ranked opponent of the year when No. 16 Central Missouri comes to Topeka for a 3 p.m. match Saturday.

Willer had just three errors in 32 attacks to hit .406 and she added six digs and two blocks. She had nine kills in the second set including two early as Washburn took a 6-1 lead and four down the stretch as Washburn scored five of the last seven points to pull away and win.

Sarah Vicory led the Ichabods with seven blocks as Washburn blocked 13 total Lindenwood attacks. She hit .400 with seven kills and an error in 15 swings.
Marissa Cox added five blocks and
Korie Thompson had four.

Natalie Bates led the offense to a .299 attack percentage with 26 assists. She added two kills and nine digs. Libero
Alyssa Carney led the defense with 15 digs and Thompson had 10.

Washburn hit at least .250 in all three sets while the Lions hit negative in two of the three sets. Lindenwood finished hitting .009 as a team. Kayla Guyot and Jessica Krygsheld led the Lions with eight kills each.
