TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods played 110 minutes for a 1-1 double overtime tie with Northwest Missouri on Sunday afternoon at Yager Stadium. Washburn will now embark of a five-game roadtrip starting at Missouri Southern on Friday.
Emily Stauffer's penalty kick goal put the Ichabods up 1-0 in the 20th minute of the match for her second goal of the season. The score would remain the same at the break as Washburn (3-6-3, 2-3-1 MIAA) outshot the Bearcat 9 to 6 in the opening half.
The Bearcats (2-6-3, 1-4-1 MIAA) tied the score off Anna Holden's third goal of the season scoring off a scrum inside the box in the 56th minute.
There would only be three shots in the two overtime periods with both coming in the first 10-minute period with Washburn recording two to the Bearcat's one.
Kaitlin Minnich recorded five saves in goal for the Ichabods facing 14 shots. Overall the Ichabods outshot the Bearcats 20 to 14 with Stauffer leading the Ichabods with four shots. Both
Bailey Wobig and Stauffer recorded three shots on goal.Â
