TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods scored a goal in the 28th minute and remained in the lead the remainder of the match picking up a 1-0 win over Missouri Western on Friday night at Yager Stadium. Washburn returns to action on Sunday against Northwest Missouri at 1 p.m.
Ellie Karloff recorded her first collegiate goal at the 27:40 mark of the first half off a corner kick from
Sara Specht to
Cadence Bourne who found Karloff who scored from five yards out for what would turn out to be the match-winner.
Kaitlin Minnich recorded her third shutout of the season recording two saves while facing six shots from the Griffons (5-4-1, 2-4-1 MIAA).
Washburn (3-6-2, 2-3-0 MIAA) recorded five shots in the match with Specht leading the Ichabods with two shots.

Morgan El-Attrache and Karloff each had one shot attempt.
