Ichabod men's basketball team runs past RiverHawks in 24-point win

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod men's basketball team jumped out to a 16-3 lead and never looked back as they rolled past Northeastern State in a 92-68 win. Washburn will be back in action on Wednesday at Fort Hays State.

Washburn (13-14, 8-8 MIAA) stormed to the lead after shooting a blistering 58 percent in teh opening half as they raced to a 52-29 lead at the break. The RiverHawks (6-16, 4-11 MIAA) were not within double figures of the Ichabods from the 14:29 point of the first half to the end of the game. Kyle Wiggins scored 19 of his game-high 26 points in the first half after hitting 7 of 8 first half shots including 4 of 5 from 3-point range.

In the second half Washburn cooled off to 46 percent hitting 10 of 22 shots and 5 of 11 shots from deep as they outscored the RiverHawks 40-39 in the second half leading to the 24-point win.

Following Wiggins' 26 points on 9 of 11 shooting and 5 of 7 from 3-point range, Kevin House added a career-high 16 points on 6 of 7 shooting and Christian Ulsaker had 14 points. Alex North had a game-high 12 rebounds adding a career-high seven assists in the process.

Demone Harrison scored 20 to lead the RiverHawks. 

Washburn outrebounded the RiverHawks 39 to 22 and the Ichabod bench outscored the NSU bench 56 to 27 in the win.
