First serve . . . • The No. 49-ranked Washburn Ichabod men's tennis team will return to action for a road match at in Kansas City on Thursday when they will face Rockhurst on the Hawks' campus courts.
• The Ichabods were 1-1 last week with an 8-1 win over Baker while falling to No. 36 Missouri-St. Louis 6-3.
• The Ichabods were ranked No. 49 in the latest ITA National Rankings and were ranked No. 8 in the latest ITA Central Regional Rankings.
• Rockhurst is not ranked nationally, but ranked No. 9 in the latest ITA Midwest Regional Rankings.
Drop shots . . . • The Ichabods are 41-34 in singles play this season and have gone 13-18 in doubles play this year.

Blake Hunter leads the Ichabods with 11 wins going 11-4 and
Martin Wieand has 10 singles wins and a 10-5 record.
Matt Barlow has a 8-5 singles record.
• In doubles play, the duo of
Matt Barlow and
Blake Hunter are 6-5 while the team of
Trey Horton and
Martin Wieand are 4-5 this season.
• Both Hunter and Wieand reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Tennis Tournament last fall in Springfield in singles play.
Coaching . . . Former Ichabod tennis player
Lance Lysaught is in his first season as the Ichabod head coach. He started the Ottawa tennis program from scratch going 9-17 for the Braves. Overall he is 11-24 as a collegiate head coach in third season and 2-3 in his first season at Washburn.
