EDMOND, Okla. -- Washburn will dominate championship Sunday at the ITA Central Region Tournament filling three of four spots in singles and doubles after a strong day three of the event on Saturday. The singles championship will take place at 10 a.m. with doubles to follow. 

Beginning the day in doubles, Keita Kuroda and Gael Mourmant battled for a 8-4 victory in the quarterfinal round. On the other side of the bracket Benjamin Fock and Nicolas Hurtado-Novoa ran out of gas, falling 8-3 to end their run. Kilian Martinez and Yuto Miyagawa created a matchup of Ichabods in the semifinals, winning 8-5 in their quarterfinals match. 

The semifinals battle went into a tiebreaker and the sophomore duo of Martinez and Miyagawa pulled away for an 8-7(4) victory to represent Washburn in the championship round.  

Matches on the singles front began with another all-Ichabod matchup as Kilian Martinez defeated Benjamin Fock in three sets in the semifinals to book his spot in the championship match. Yuto Miyagawa joined him, coming from behind to win his dual in three sets, putting the doubles duo against eachother in singles action.
