First serve . . . •   The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis team continues MIAA play on Thursday when they will host Missouri Western at 2 p.m. at the Washburn Tennis Complex. The Ichabods will then take on Concordia (Neb.) the following day.
•   The Ichabods are 1-6 this season coming off a 6-3 loss to Rockhurst on March 12 in Kansas City.Â
•   The Griffons are 5-4 this season and 2-2 in MIAA play while the Bulldogs are 1-4 this season and will take on Doane on March 26 before facing the Ichabods.
 Drop shots . . . •   The Ichabods have gone 33-39 so far this season in three tournaments and the seven dual matches this season.Â

Casyn Buchman leads the team with seven singles wins this season going 7-4 overall and 1-1 in dual matches.

Jodie Blackim has six singles wins and
Maria Moral Carretero has five singles wins this season while
Maggie Plum and
Gwen Shepler each has four wins.
•   As a team the Ichabods are 18-17 in doubles this year play going 9-5 in tournament action in the fall and 9-12  in dual matches.
•   In doubles the Ichabods overall this season,
Jodie Blackim and
Casyn Buchman lead the team with a 6-1 combined doubles record in tournament play. Overall Blackim has nine wins in doubles and Buchman has eight.
 Coaching . . . Former Ichabod tennis player
Lance Lysaught is in his first season as the Ichabod head coach. He started the Ottawa tennis program from scratch going 11-17 for the Braves. Overall he is 12-23 as a collegiate head coach and 1-6 in his first season at Washburn.
 Up next . . . The Ichabods will continue MIAA play on March 30 when they will take on No. 19-ranked Southwest Baptist and then face Nebraska-Kearney on April 1. Washburn will then have road matches at Fort Hays State on April 3, Central Oklahoma on April 6 and No. 21-ranked Northeastern State on April 10 before returning home on April 13 to face Northwest Missouri on April 13.
