SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis season came to an end with a 5-0 loss to top-seeded Northeastern State on Friday morning at the Cooper Tennis Center in the MIAA Tournament quarterfinals. 

The Ichabods were down 3-0 of doubles to the No. 21-ranked team in the nation and the No. 1 ranked team in the NCAA Central Rankings.

The No. 1 doubles team of Casyn Buchman and Jodie Blackim fell 8-4 to Kristina Savchenkov and Patricia Husakova, who are ranked No. 12 in the nation. At No. 2 doubles Maggie Plum and Gwen Shepler fell 8-2 to Molly Worden and Valeriia Efimenko and at No. 3 doubles Nzingha Banks and Kirsten Holle lost 8-4 to Easton Parker and Barbora Jirickova.

In singles, Worden topped Maria Moral Carretero 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and Jirickova beat Shepler 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles to clinch the match.

It was the final match of Buchman's career who finished with a 68-25 all-time doubles record. Her 68 wins rank seventh all-time at Washburn on the doubles chart. In singles, Buchman finished with a record of 54-29, which is 17th all-time at Washburn.
