MANHATTAN, Kan. --- The Washburn women's basketball team outrebounded Kanas State in a 66-31 exhibition loss Friday evening at Bramlage Arena.

The Ichabods out scored the Wildcats in the second period 13-11 as they headed into halftime trailing 27-19.

Washburn cut the lead to seven just before the midway point of the third quarter as
Jharian Bowen knocked down a three-pointer and a jumper to make it 31-24. Bowen finished with a team-best 11 points and converted 3-of-7 attempts from the field.

Kansas State quickly reopened a double-digit with a pair of scores from Peyton Williams making it 38-26 at the 3:49 mark. The Wildcats never looked back as they closed out the quarter with a 44-31 advantage before outscoring Washburn in the fourth quarter 22-0.

In addition to her 11 points on the night, Bowen pulled down five rebounds.
Alyxis Bowens finished the night with seven points and five boards, while
Erika Lane hauled in a game-high nine rebounds and chipped in four points.

As a team, Washburn controlled the glass outrebounding KSU 41-36, while the Wildcats outpaced the Ichabods with paint scoring to the tune of 40-14.

Washburn will conclude its exhibition schedule on Sunday afternoon when takes on Kansas at the historic Allen Fieldhouse with the game slated to tip-off at 1 p.m.
