SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- The No. 25-ranked Washburn Ichabods picked up an 8-1 win over Illinois Springfield on Friday afternoon in non-conference action. Washburn returns to Topeka to take on McPherson on Sunday at the Washburn Tennis Complex.

Matt Barlow and Zach Hampton picked up an 8-6 win over Sam Clarke and Santiago Pedraza at No. 2 doubles and David Clausen and Trey Horton beat Grant Fitzsimmons and Ajay Bandreddy 8-3.

Washburn swept singled play winning all six matches in straight sets. Alejandro Valarezo Plaza beat Cole Buehnerkemper 6-4, 6-4.  At No. 2 singles Barlow defeated Clarke 6-2, 6-3.
Blake Hunter topped Logan Burgess Hayes 6-4, 7-6 at No. 3 singles and Hampton topped Pedraza 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Will Agritelley beat Fitzsimmons 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and Dario Munoz-Poletti blaked Sean Courty at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0.
