SBU, however, struck back with two of its own in the seventh to regain the lead 4-3, and Washburn went to the ninth looking to extend the game, and Triggs came through with a solo home run (his third home run of 2016) to tie it at 4-all and force extras after a scoreless bottom half of the ninth. The comeback wasn't completed, however, as SBU walked off with a run in the bottom of the 10th.
Washburn heads for Emporia, Kan., this Wednesday, April 13 for a 5 p.m., midweek game that opens a three-game series between the teams.
