TOPEKA, Kan. – The Ichabod men's and women's tennis team will be seeing double this week when it heads to Kansas City, Mo. to face William Jewell College on Sept. 21 and then head home to host Truman State on Sept. 24.
 
Washburn has gotten off to a strong start this season winning several flight championships at both the Wheatstate Fall Classic and the Emporia State Invitational.
 
Alejandro Valarezo Plaza and 
Paul Haase lead the men's team in singles play each winning their flight at the ESU Chicken Dinner Tournament. On the doubles side several pairings for the Ichabods have picked up flight championships thus far into the season.
 
On the women's side the Ichabods have started the season on a high note sweeping the competition at the Wheatstate Fall Classic in both the singles and doubles competition and earning several flight victories at the ESU Chicken Dinner Tourney. 
Madeline Hill leads the Ichabods with a 7-0 record in singles thus far into the season.
 
 Matches are set to being at 3 p.m. at the Plaza Tennis Courts on Wednesday and noon on Saturday. These two matchups will conclude the fall season for the Ichabods before ITA Regionals begin Oct. 1 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
