ALVA, Okla. -- The Washburn soccer team continued its unbeaten streak Thursday after finishing against Northwestern Oklahoma State University in a 1-1 tie.

Tera Lynch scored her first goal of the season for the Ichabods in the 75th minute, opening a late 1-0 lead against the Rangers. With just 4:40 left on the clock, Karla Lopez scored the equalizer to send the game into overtime.

In a scoreless first half, the Ichabods were outshot 7-3, the first time in any half Washburn took fewer shots than its opponent. Five of those shots by the Rangers were on goal, all saved by goalkeeper Kaitlin Minnich.

In the second half, the Ichabods' offense came alive as they took six shots in the first 15 minutes of the period, five of them on goal. For the half, WU had 15 shots compared to the Rangers' three. Individually, Olivia Grasso had the most shots for Washburn with five.
The overtime period saw an offensive drought for the Ichabods, as they did not send a single shot towards NWOSU goalkeeper Kylee Loustaunau.

The Ichabods now stand at 2-0-1, with a matchup against Newman University coming up at 1 P.M. Sunday. The Jets are 1-2-0 on the season, most recently losing to Rogers State University.
