TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn women's junior varsity team finished its season on a winning note Monday, defeating the University of Saint Mary Spires 79-48.

The Ichabods were a force on the defensive end, causing 27 Spires turnovers, 19 of those coming in the first half. The Spires were also held to 32 percent shooting on the night.

Adyson Narber and Olivia Montague were big contributors from behind the 3-point line, as the two hit seven of the team's 12 triples. Narber went 4-7 from deep as part of her team-high 19 points, while Montague went 3-4.

Montague's 13 points landed her second on the team for the game, while
Hayley Thompson was the other Ichabod in double figures with 11.

The Ichabods will end the season having won six of their final seven games, four of those victories coming by 31 or more points. Their 6-7 final record was a vast improvement over last season's 1-12 finish.
