Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. -- Rain and soggy court conditions forced the Washburn men's tennis team to move its final match of the fall season indoors, but the Ichabods were not deterred as they defeated the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes 6-1.
In doubles action, Washburn claimed two out of three matches to win the point. Playing at No. 1,
Chase Brill and
Marc Roura Casi swept Felix Diax and Luis Soto, 6-0.
Bradley Eidenmueller and
Raul-Alin Dicu won in the No. 2 slot against Mike Moody and Jace West, 6-1. The No. 3 doubles match was won by Kansas Wesleyan by default.
Washburn won all five singles matches they played in straight sets. Dicu, Eidenmueller, Roura Casi,
Chase Brill and
Luke Howard all recorded victories. Kyle Rice of KWU won the No. 6 singles by default.
The Ichabods were missing
Alejandro Valarezo Plaza and
Paul Haase as the pair represented Washburn at the National ITA Cup tournament in Rome, Ga.
Friday's match concluded the regular fall season for Washburn tennis. The Ichabods will return to action in February.
