TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn's men junior varsity team held a one point lead, 36-35, heading into the half, but Baker University's varsity reserve team pulled away in the second half to claim the victory, 88-74. The Ichabods are now 2-1 on the season.
Washburn leaders
- Tommy Ekart led the team with 20 points. He was 8-21 from the field and 4-10 from behind the arc.
- Ekart also dished out a team-high seven assists.
- Coming off the bench, Christian Scheopner scored 13 points. He pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.
- JoBreil Powell added a dozen points for the Ichabods. He also handed out three assists.
- Spenser Wine was 3-5 from the three-point line.
Washburn will hit the road next week to play at Park University in Parkville, Mo. The game against the Pirates is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 19 with a 7 p.m. tip-off.
