TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn men's junior varsity found its stroke in the second half and shot 15-of-21 (71.4%) from the field while holding Kansas City Kansas Community College to just 13-of-34 (38.2%) from the floor as the Ichabods claimed the game, 80-77. Washburn had four double-digit scorers in the victory as the Ichabods improve to 4-4 on the season.
Washburn leaders
- JoBreil Powell led the team in scoring with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field. He also was 6-7 from the charity stripe.
- Isaiah Thorne made his JV debut and tallied 18 points. He shot 5-9 from the floor and 3-5 from long range.
- Also making his JV debut was Jamaal David. He scored 16 points and pulled down six defensive rebounds.
- Tristin Lewis Dierking matched David's total of 16 points. He also brought down a team-best seven rebounds.
- Spenser Wine blocked one shot attempt and added seven points.
The Ichabods will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Tip-off against Fort Scott Community College is tabbed for 7:30 p.m. in Lee Arena.
