TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Washburn soccer fell to Northeastern State, 3-1, on Fri., Oct. 11. Washburn is now 5-5-0 overall and 1-3-0 in conference play so far this season. Washburn tallied shots eight with four on goal.Â
In the first half of the match, Northeastern State led the attack. The RiverHawks scored in the 15th minute to take the lead, 1-0, over the Ichabods. Washburn quickly responded with a goal by Josie Rimmer with an assist from Olivia Grasso and Paige Ledesma to tie the match. Washburn finished the first half with six attempted shots, three by Rimmer. Raegan Wells tallied three saves.Â
The first 35 minutes of the second half was scoreless until the RiverHawks scored off of a penalty kick to take the lead 2-1 over the Ichabods. Northeastern State netted another goal in the 82nd minute increase their lead to 3-1. Halle Hill and Ledesma each attempted a shot for the Ichabods in the second half. Wells finished the match with eight saves.
Washburn soccer will travel Claremore, Okla. to face Rogers State on Sun., Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.
