EDMOND, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods were tagged for three runs in the first inning and could not recover in a 10-1 loss to Rogers State in their first game at the Edmond Regional Festival. The Ichabods will return to action with two more games on Sunday and two more on Monday, all being played on the Oklahoma Christian campus.
Rogers State scored three runs in its first at bat all on one hit jumping out to the early lead. Washburn did come back with a run in th bottom of the second when
Samantha Stallbaumer's ground out scored
Kameron Kissinger scored after reaching on a walk.
However it wasn't enough as the Hillcats scored three more in the fourth and three more in the fifth leading to the 10-1 win.
Emilee Baker,
Taylor Kirk and
Bri Francis had the three hits for the Ichabods and
Savannah Moore reached base twice after drawing a pair of walks.
Raegen Hamm (2-3) took the loss.
