WARRENSBURG, Mo. --- The Washburn Ichabod baseball team outlasted Central Missouri in the second of the three-game set, 8-7, on Friday to even the series, 1-1. The Ichabods, who improved to 11-12 overall and 6-8 in the MIAA, out hit the Mules, 13-10.

Washburn starter
Jacob Head (2-2) had a strong outing en route to picking up the win as he surrendered four runs on six heads with two strikeouts. The lefty held the Mules scoreless through six through and conceded just two hits during the same stretch.

Leading 8-7 to start the ninth, reliever
Nathan Lorenzen worked recorded his second save of the season.

Offensively,
Javis Larson led the way with a 3-for-4 day at the plate and two runs.
Peter Shearer and
Brady Hoover were each 2-for-5 with a run and a RBI.
Xavier De Leon also finished with a run scored and RBI while going 2-for-4.

The Ichabods jumped out to an early lead in the first scoring four times on five hits. Washburn then scratched three runs across in the fourth to building a commanding 7-0 advantage before adding another run in the sixth.

Central Missouri then push across four runs in the seventh, before cutting the Ichabod advantage to one with a three-run eighth.

The Ichabods will concluded the series on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.
