MARYVILLE, Mo. --- Washburn baseball dropped both ends of its doubleheader with Northwest Missouri (14-15, 10-8 MIAA) on Monday, falling 16-11 in game one and 7-5 in game two. The Ichabods (12-16, 6-12 MIAA) will return to action at Falley Field when they host Southwest Baptist for three-game set beginning Friday.

Game 1: Washburn 11, Northwest Missouri 16
Brady Hoover had Washburn on the board early with a two-run shot for his eighth of the season. The Ichabods then extended their margin to 4-0 in the third with RBI from
Wyatt Featherston and
Javis Larson.

Washburn then plated five runs on three hits in the sixth.
Lane Harvey led the charge with a two-run double, while
Xavier De Leon, Hoover and
Steven Jacobson each drove a run across during the frame. The Ichabods scoring was then capped in the seventh with runs by
Javis Larson Rorey Combs.

The Bearcats plated nine in the fifth before tacking on six in the seventh and one in the eighth.

Reliever
Bailey Jenkins (0-1) was dealt the loss allowing four runs on four hits in 2.2 innings.

Game 2: Washburn 5, Northwest Missouri 7
The Ichabods tallied two runs in the sixth, after pushing one across in the first, third and fifth.

Larson led the offense as he went 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk. Hoover, De Leon and
Peter Shearer were each 2-for-5, while
Michael Oyervides was 2-for-4.

Hoover tagged his ninth home run on the year in the first, before Oyervides belted a two-run shot in the sixth for his third of the season.

Northwest scored once in the second and two in the seventh, but it was a four-run fifth that was the difference maker.

Washburn starter
Brock Gilliam (0-4) was handed the loss, worked seven frames and surrendered seven runs, six earned, on seven hits with seven strikeouts.
Ramon Monje meanwhile had a scoreless inning of relief.
