BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The Washburn Ichabod softball team wrapped up a perfect 4-0 weekend with a pair of wins on the second day of the Eight State Classic. Washburn will be back in action starting next Friday at the Emporia State Classic.
Game 1 – WU 6, Arkansas Tech 4
After falling behind 3-0 after the Golden Suns' first at bat, the Ichabods came back with four runs of their own in the bottom of the first on a grand slam by

Samantha Dutton who both singled and
Jenna Moore who drew a walk. Arkansas Tech tied the score with a solo run in the third and the score remained knotted until the sixth inning when Moore led off the inning with a solo home run and after a pinch hit double by
Ashton Friend,
Bri Francis sent her home on a single to left. In the top of the seventh,
Raegen Hamm came in and picked up the save in relief and
Jordan Hausher collected the win. Washburn had six people different with one hit in the opener.
Game 2 – WU 5, Wayne State 0

Raegen Hamm picked up the complete game shutout as Washburn won its fourth straight game with the 5-0 win over the Wildcats. Hamm scattered six hits in the game striking out five. Washburn got on the board in the third when
Jenna Moore drove in two with a double to right field scoring Dutton and
Brianna Fuchs. In the fifth, a two-run home run by Friend pushed the lead to 5-0.
