OMAHA, Neb. – The Washburn men's tennis team fell to DI opponent Omaha, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
The Mavericks (3-5) won the doubles point as they notched wins in two of the three flights. The Ichabods' lone doubles win came from the duo of
Paul Haase and
Daniel Bird as they defeated their opponent, 6-2. This win marks transfer Bird's first action and first win as an Ichabod.
Washburn notched two points from singles action. Haase won his match against Hugo Piles Ballester of Omaha with both scores of 7-5.
Bradley Eidenmueller notched the other Ichabod point as he defeated Phillip Olsson with scores of 6-4, 2-6 and 6-1.
The Ichabods host their home opener against William Jewell on Feb. 21. The match is set for 12 p.m. (CT) at Genesis Tennis Center.
