ORLANDO, Fla. – The Washburn women's tennis team defeated Northwood, 5-2, on Tuesday at the USTA National Campus. 
Logan Morrissey set a new program record as she recorded her 82nd career doubles win. 
 
The Ichabods won the doubles point after a 7-6 (7-4) victory from

Logan Morrissey at the top of the lineup and a 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot from the duo of 
Maja Jung and 
Kinsey Fields. With Morrissey's doubles win, she now has 82 career doubles wins, the most in program history.
 
Marta Torres earned the first singles point for the Ichabods as she defeated her opponent 6-3 and 6-2 from the No. 2 spot. 
Cadence Lynn then followed with a victory at the bottom of the lineup by scores of 6-2 and 7-5. Jung won her match by scores of 7-5 and 6-3 from the No. 4 spot. After Fields fell to her opponent from the fifth spot in the lineup, 
Maria Soler Valverde overcame her opponent by scores of 6-1, 1-6 and 6-1 from the No. 3 spot to ensure the Ichabods 5-2 victory.
 
Washburn improves its record to 4-0 while Northwood falls to 1-5.
 
The Ichabods will continue their road trip, traveling to St. Augustine, Fla., to face nationally ranked No. 10 Flagler College on Wednesday. Start time is set for 11 a.m. at Flagler Tennis Center.
