Ichabod women's track team off to hot start at day one of SBU Invite

BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabods opened the Southwest Baptist Invitational with a top-five finish in an individual event and had the multi entrants record personal bests in each of their four events today in the outdoor heptathlon.

Shae Ware sits third in the heptathlon with 2893 points and Taylor Grasser is 13^th with 1894 points with three events to go. Ware recorded third-place finishes in the high jump and the shot put with a fourth in the 200m.

Shelby Edwards took fifth in the javelin with a mark of 43.64m (143-02).
