Logan Stock finished seventh in the decathlon earning first team status.
Shae Ware finished 13
th in the heptathlon and
Romain Henry advanced to the finals in the 110m hurdles on Saturday.
LOGAN STOCK – DECATHLON DAY 2
Logan Stock opened the second day with a ninth-place showing in the 110m hurdles in a time of 15.65 and then he moved to ninth in the overall standings after finishing fifth in the discus with a distance of 36.40m (119-10). With the weather being cool (47 degrees) the pole vault event was moved inside to the Grand Valley State Indoor Facility and Stock finished eighth with a mark of 4.10m (13-05.25) adding 645 points to his score. Moving back outside for the javelin, Stock finished third with a throw of 49.51m (162-05) moving him to eighth place overall setting him up for his final event. Stock finished fifth in the final event of the 1500m in a time of 4:42.63 topping his previous best time in the event of 4:47.24 securing his top-eight status to earn All-American honors. He was also an All-American in the 2020 heptathlon in the indoor championships.
SHAE WARE – HEPTATHLON DAY 2
Shae Ware wrapped up her first NCAA Championship appearance with a 13
th-place showing in the heptathlon with 4,442 points. Her point total is the second-best in program history behind her own school record in the event. To open the second day, Ware placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.49m (18-00.25) earning her 697 points. In the javelin, after a throw of 23.77m (78-00), she improved on each of her next two throws with marks of 33.26 (109-01) and then finishing with a personal best of 34.04m (111-08) – the fourth-best individual performance in school history - to finish eighth overall. In her final event of the championships, Ware finished 13
th in the 800m in a time of 2:46.99.
ROMAIN HENRY – 110m HURDLE PRELIMS
Romain Henry advanced to the Saturday finals in the 110m hurdles after winning the second heat in a time of 14.08. Overall it was the fourth-fastest qualifying time between the two heats. The finals are scheduled on Saturday at 2:40 p.m. His time of 14.08 was wind-aided at 4.7 m/s. The first heat had a tailwind of 4.2 m/s. Henry finished sixth in the nation at the 2021 NCAA D2 Indoor Championships.
