KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track and field team had a combined 59 student-athletes named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll that was released today by the league office.
Washburn had a combined seven student-athletes earn the MIAA Academic Excellence Award for their 4.0 cumulative grade point averages.
Gustavo Cadan (kinesiology),
Alessandro Di Gregorio (physics) and
Sebastiaan Horselenberg (public administration) earned the honor for the men and
Cheyenne Hittle (accounting),
Reagan Housley (nursing),
Tessa Jeffery (kinesiology) and
Katy Menke (elementary education) were the women's team members picking up the award.
The Ichabod women had four student-athletes who earned all-MIAA honors at the MIAA Outdoor Championships finishing in the top three of their event while recording at least a 3.5 grade point average. Those include
Eve Weber (mathematics),
Ilaria Villa (kinesiology),
Maya Pattison (marketing) and
Kereser Augustin (kinesiology).
The Ichabod men also had four student-athletes earn MIAA Scholar Athlete Honors with
Alessandro Di Gregorio (physics),
Jordan Dale (economics),
Jaden Magana (biology) and
Sam Baxter (data analytics).
These academic awards do not include first-year freshmen or first-year transfers. The MIAA will release its Newcomer Academic Awards from the 2024-25 academic year in late June. To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
