PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team had its best finish in program history in four previous appearances at the MIAA Outdoor Championships finishing recording 66 points with a seventh-place finish. The 66 points were 20 more than its previous high from 2018.
Taylor Gonzalez chalked up 18 points on day two of the championships becoming the fourth individual champions for the Ichabods in program history winning the 5000m run in a time of 17:26.15. Gonzales also recorded eight more team points with a school-record in the 1500m run for second team all-MIAA honors.
As a squad in the 5000m run the Ichabods had a total of 19 points as
Lily Johnson was fourth for five points and Sierra Moretensen was fifth for four points adding to Gonzales' 10 points.
Mortensen tallied eight more points finishing second in the 3000m steeple.
Isabella Hohl was sixth in the 100m finals in a time of 12.11 for three team points and
Chia Okoro was seventh in the 400m adding two team points with a time of 57.96.

Isabella Hohl was fifth setting a school-record in a time of 3:51.74 knocking nearly four seconds off the previous mark en route to four team points.
