Ichabods' 17-game winning streak snapped by Bronchos in MIAA action

EDMOND, Okla. – The Washburn Ichabod softball team had its 17-game winning streak snapped after falling in a pair of games at No. 10-ranked Central Oklahoma in a 15-1 and a 8-5 loss. UCO scored five in the bottom of the second and then the Ichabods (19-8, 2-2 MIAA) scored a solo run in the top of the third when Hailey Neira reached after getting hit by a pitch and the Ginter was hit with the bases loaded sending Neira home. UCO (21-4, 4-0 MIAA) scored three in the fourth inning to go up 8-1.

Neither team scored again until the Ichabods put four runs on the board as Marrit Mead led off the inning with a double and after Hadley Kerschen was hit, both would come around to score on a triple by Ginter and then Jaden LaBarge homered driving in two more as the Ichabods trimmed the lead to 8-5, but Washburn picked up two more hits the rest of the way in the loss.
