EDMOND, Okla. – The No. 54 Ichabods fell to No. 51 Griffons, 4-3, in the MIAA Tournament semifinals match.
 
The Ichabods (14-11) started the morning winning the doubles point. At No. 3 doubles, Svea Crohn and Marta Torres moved to 18-3 on the season with a 6-2 win against the All-MIAA First Team doubles team of Ioanna Lathouri and Anais Peralta Criado. Then, Maja Jung and Kinsey Fields secured the point moments later with a 6-3 win over Esther Guemes and Claudia Iglesias at No. 2 doubles.
 
The 24th-ranked doubles team Lara Schmid and Isabella Martensson were in a 5-5 battle at No. 1 doubles before the match was called early.
 
In singles play, Jung cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Isabella MacGibbon from the third position. Missouri Western (17-4) fought back to take the 3-2 with three straight-set victories at No. 1 singles, No. 5 singles, and No. 6 singles. The final two singles matches went to the third set.
 
Crohn tied the score, topping Guemes 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. The match came down to the winner at No. 4 singles. Unfortunately, The Griffons grabbed the three-set victory over Schmid.
 
The selection committee will determine what teams advance to the Central Regional on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.
