KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Four Washburn men's tennis student-athletes earned a place on the MIAA/GAC Academic Honor Roll which was released on Wednesday afternoon. Three of those four Ichabods also received MIAA/GAC Scholar Athlete status after capturing All-MIAA/GAC honors and achieving a GPA above 3.5 last season. The conference will announce the newcomer and freshmen academic honorees later this month.
Earning a place on the MIAA/GAC Academic Honor Roll were seniors
Raul-Alin Dicu and
Miller Zeiders as well as sophomores
Sebastian Pjontek and
Daniel Bird. Dicu closes out his Washburn career as a five-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll member while it was the first selection for the other three Ichabods.
The trio of Dicu, Pjontek, and Bird all landed on the MIAA/GAC Scholar Athlete list after earning All-MIAA/GAC Honorable Mention accolades and finishing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Dicu, who is working towards his MBA, was also one of four men's tennis student-athletes in the league to achieve Academic Excellence with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
