EDMOND, Okla. – The Washburn Ichabods scored on their first drive of the game taking an early lead but Central Oklahoma scored the next 41 of the game en route to a 41-7 win on Saturday. The Ichabods will wrap up the season hosting Northeastern State on Nov. 11 in Yager Stadium when 16 Washburn seniors will be honored in pregame festivities.
Washburn (1-9, 0-9 MIAA) won the toss and took the ball to start the game and marched 75 yards in 11 plays as
Sam Van Dyne scored on a 1-yard run as the Ichabods went up 7-0 with 9:48 to play in the opening quarter.
For the remainder of the game the Bronchos would score on seven of their 10 drives as they snapped a two-game winning streak by the Ichabods in the series.
Washburn was outgained 491 to 240 in the game as the Ichabods has the ball for 7:26 in the entire second half running 16 total plays compared to 41 to the Bronchos.
Van Dyne finished 17 of 33 passing with two interceptions for 187 yards and
Tyce Brown had a team-high four catches for 69 yards averaging 17.3 ypc.
D.J. Bell had 13 carries for 41 yards.
L.J. Minner, Jr. had seven tackles adding a tackle for loss and
Caeden Spencer had five tackles and
Julius Jackson had five as well.
