TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn men's tennis begins the fall portion of the 2023-24 season at ITA Regionals on Friday through Sunday in Topeka at the Kossover Tennis Center.  

The 2023-24 team  

• The Ichabods return eight players from the 2022-23 team that qualified for the NCAA National Championships  

• Washburn adds one transfer and four freshmen to round out the roster  

• The Ichabods went 17-8 last season (3-1, MIAA/GAC) and won the 2023 MIAA/GAC Tournament Championship  

• Head coach Kirby Ronning begins his fourth season at Washburn  

ITA Regionals 

• The 2023 regionals are held in Topeka at the Kossover Tennis Center  

• Singles and doubles matches will begin Friday, Sep. 15 in the morning and will run through the afternoon on Sunday, Sep. 17  

• Washburn will have 12 players participating on the singles side: Pavlos Parson, Tommy Cecchetti, Daniel Harkin, Santiago Rendon, Sebastian Pjontek, Matthew Earle, Daniel Bird, Tim Hammes, Graham Faris, Ivan Ivanov, Moritz Pieper and Mason Fair.  

• The Ichabods have six pairings in doubles: Daniel Bird and Sebastian Pjontek, Matthew Earle and Pavlos Parson, Graham Faris and Tommy Cecchetti, Tim Hammes and Santiago Rendon, Moritz Pieper and Mason Fair along with Daniel Harkin and Ivan Ivanov.  

• On singles Pavlos Parson, Tommy Cecchetti and Daniel Harkin start at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in singles.  

• Santiago Rendon, Sebastian Pjontek, Matthew Earle and Daniel Bird at 12:00 p.m. 

• Tim Hammes is scheduled to begin at 12:30  

• Graham Faris, Ivan Ivanov and Moritz Pieper start at 1:30 while Mason Fair begins 15 minutes later at 1:45  

• In doubles all of Bird/Pjontek, Earle/Parson, Faris/Cecchetti, Harkin/Ivanov, and Hammes/Rendon begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.  

• Pieper and Fair are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Friday.
