INDIANAPOLIS, In. -- No. 9 nationally ranked Washburn men's tennis was named the No. 6 seed in the NCAA National Championships in the bracket released by the NCAA Wednesday night. They will face the No. 11 seed and No. 20 nationally ranked Wayne State (MI) on May 21 at 11 a.m. CST.
The Ichabods enter the tournament with a 20-4 record on the year after winning the MIAA/GAC Championship Tournament and advancing out of the NCAA Central Region bracket.
The Warriors are 16-10 on the year after defeating Tiffin and Grand Valley State in the Midwest Regionals. Washburn fell 4-1 to Wayne State in a neutral court match earlier in the season.
All matches will take place at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. The winner of the match between Washburn and Wayne State will face the winner of No. 3 Saint Leo and No. 14 Queens (NY) on May 22 at 11 a.m. CST.
