KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn men's tennis was selected in the top spot of the 2025 MIAA/GAC Preseason Coaches Poll in the north division.  

The Ichabods, who enter the season ranked No. 8 in the nation by the ITA, received 10 of 11 first-place votes and 55 points overall. Washburn has won the past two MIAA/GAC Tournament Championships and finished first place in the regular season last year going 5-0 in the north division.  

Checking in at No. 2 in the polls is Nebraska Kearney with 40 points and the final first-place vote. Northwest Missouri was selected third followed by Emporia State, Newman and Augustana. In the south division Harding was selected first with seven first-place votes.  

Washburn begins the spring season on Saturday with a 12 p.m. exhibition match against Cowley County CC at the Genesis Tennis Center in Topeka.
