TOPEKA, KAN. - The No. 16 Washburn Soccer team drew 0-0 with rival Emporia State on Senior Night.
FIRST HALF
It was a back-and-forth opening 45 minutes with Washburn taking 5 in the half with one on target from
Shaye Taylor in the 43rd minute.
Lili Everley would also make 3 saves to keep it level at the break.
SECOND HALF
The Ichabods would have two shots on goal saved in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Senior
Aubrey Tanksley would put one off the crossbar in the 59th minute. In the 73rd minute,
Rilyn Snyder would take a free kick that would be saved off the crossbar and out of play for a corner. Washburn took 10 shots in the 2nd half, with 6 on target and saved by the Hornets' goalie.
No. 16 Washburn ends the regular season with a record of 11-2-5, MIAA 8-0-4.
The Ichabods finish 2nd in the MIAA conference with 28 points, and Pittsburg State wins its first-ever MIAA Soccer Regular Season Championship.
