TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn's junior infielder Kate Ediger from Ichabod softball has been named the MIAA Softball Hitter of the Week from her performance in the Ichabods' only two games last week.
Ediger was 4 for 6 in two games last week batting .667 with 6 RBI and 3 runs scored adding 2 home runs including a grand slam in the Ichabods' only games at the Raising Cane's Festival.
Against Arkansas Tech, her grand slam in the fourth inning helped turn a 7-4 deficit into an 11-7 lead and her second home run of the day pushed the Ichabod lead to 12-8 in the seventh inning finishing with 6 RBI for the game - one shy of the school record.
Against Oklahoma Baptist, she was 1 for 2 scoring a run while drawing two walks.
