INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team picked up three more All-Americans bring its total to six after the second day of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the UIndy Athletics and Recreation Center on Friday. The final day of the three-day meet will wrap up on Saturday.
In the high jump,
Matthew Heckman set a school record with a mark of 2.17m (7-01.50) earning five points and
Jordan Dale placed fifth clearing 2.14m (7-00.25) scoring four points as the high jump squad tallied nine total points moving the Ichabods into ninth place after two days of the championships. The All-American awards were both Heckman's and Dale's third of their Washburn career and second indoor All-American award.
In the 200m preliminaries,
Ezekiel Seamster earned second team All-American honors finishing ninth overall in a time of 21.23 just missing out on the finals.
Lexie Fontaine finished 14th overall in the 800m preliminaries with a time of 2:10.75.
Chaney Martin finished up the heptathlon on Friday finishing 15th with 3,586 points.
