NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track and field team had four men and four women named all-region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday. The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned all-region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-three relay teams.
Named all-region for the women were
Lexie Fontaine in both the 800m and the 1500m,
Kyla Lochtefeld in the 5000m and
Naiuri Krein in the heptathlon. Earning all-region for the men were
Donald Kibet in the 10,000m,
Jake Muller in the 400m hurdles,
Slade Smith in the high jump and
Justin Forde in the triple jump.
Fontaine (in both events), Krein, Muller, Smith and Forde will all be in action at the 2026 DII men's and women's outdoor track and field championships are from Thursday, May 21, to Saturday, May 23 hosted by Emporia State.
