AZUSA, Cali. -- No. 8 Washburn completed a sweep of its west coast trip with a sweep as they defeated Hawaii Pacific 4-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Ichabods will return to action next Saturday, March 15 against Harding in Edmond, Okla.
Renske Ubachs and Daniela Tijaro began doubles competition with a 6-2 win on the top court for Washburn (7-1). The Sharks (2-7) evened things up as Leo Floeth and Peyton Koper fell 6-4 from No. 2. Saajida Razick and Isabella Martensson finished shortly after, earning the Ichabods a point, winning 6-4 at No. 3.
In singles play Ubachs once again worked quickly, winning 6-3 in the first set and 6-0 in the second at No. 1. Daniela Tijaro followed, winning 6-4 and 6-2 sets to bring up match point. Leo Floeth provided the match-clinching point with a pair of 6-2 set victories to wrap up the sweep from court two.
Saajida Razick led 3-2 in the second set at No. 3 after winning 6-3 in the first set when the match was decided. Peyton Koper was just three games into her duel from No. 5.
