KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Five members of the Ichabod women's tennis team earned All-MIAA honors announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon. In addition, head coach Kirby Ronning was named the conference's Coach of the Year.
Kirby Ronning claims his first ever Coach of the Year honors on the women's side and his third conference honor of his career (2023-24 – Men's & 2024-25 Men's). He helped guide Washburn to a share of the MIAA Regular Season Championship going 8-1 in the conference and 17-2 overall heading into the conference tournament.
Renske Ubachs is a first team selection in singles after posting a 18-7 record overall and going 15-4 in duals on the top two courts. She went 6-3 in MIAA play and has gone 11-3 on the year at no. 1. She is 4-4 against ranked opponents and has won the last three times out.
On the All-MIAA first team in doubles, Ubachs is joined by Daniela Tijaro after the duo has posted a 24-5 record together this season. They went 15-3 in duals, all coming at No. 1 while going 7-1 against MIAA opponents. They have won the last five times on the court and are 2-3 against ranked opponents.
Leo Floeth landed on the second team for singles play going 16-11 overall in singles and 10-8 in duals at three positions. She went 5-4 in conference play and is 4-1 on the year at both No. 1 and No. 3 positions.
Daniela Tijaro also earns singles recognition, as an All-MIAA honorable mention. She has gone 17-9 on the year and 11-7 in duals at three positions. She has gone 5-3 in conference duals with a 5-1 record playing at No. 3. Against ranked opponents she has gone 2-0.
Saajida Razick also earns honorable mention honors in singles during her freshman season. She is 16-7 on the year and 10-5 in duals at three positions in the middle of the lineup. She went 6-1 in MIAA play and has gone 5-2 at No. 4 while winning her last five times out.
Peyton Koper and Leo Floeth earn honorable mention recognition in doubles with the duo posting a 11-4 record together this season, all coming in duals. They went 5-2 in MIAA duals and have gone 10-4 playing at No. 2.
Washburn women's tennis begins the MIAA Tournament as the No. 2 seed facing the winner of Friday's match between Northwest Missouri State and Northeastern State.
