TEMPE, Ariz. -- Ichabod women's tennis was recognized with a pair of ITA All-Americans on Tuesday morning as the doubles duo of Renske Ubachs and Daniela Tijaro achieved the national honor.
To be named an ITA All-American, student-athletes must finish in the top-20 in singles and in the top-10 in doubles in the final ITA rankings of the season.
Renske Ubachs and Daniela Tijaro achieved that as the pair stayed inside the top-10 for the entire spring. For the year they went 25-6 together with a 16-4 mark in duals, all at No. 1. They were 7-1 against MIAA opponents and 3-3 against nationally ranked pairs in the spring. They began the season in the fall by qualifying for the ITA Cup with an ITA Central Region Doubles Championship.
It is the first ITA All-American award for both Ubachs and Tijaro. It marks a third straight season that Washburn has at least one All-American.
