EDMOND, OKLA - The Washburn Soccer Team tied UCO in the opening game of MIAA conference play.
"I thought our ladies did an amazing job of getting a tough road point to start conference," said Washburn Head Coach
Davy Phillips. "We stayed disciplined to our game model, and I thought we grew into the game really well. I'm excited to see us continue to grow through these positive learning environments to see who we can ultimately become this season."
Washburn draws the opening match of the MIAA season 0-0 against Central Oklahoma.
FIRST HALF
In the first half, Washburn recorded one shot, which was on target by
Aubrey Tanksley. Goalkeeper
Lili Everley had three saves in the first half to keep it all square heading into the break.
SECOND HALF
The Ichabods took four more shots, with three of them being on goal. Everley recorded two more saves to get a point to start MIAA play.
GAME NOTES
- Freshman Lili Everley had five saves on the night, the most she has had in a game in her young career.
- Rilyn Snyder played 90 minutes in back-to-back games for the fourth time this season.
- Shaye Taylor also played 90 minutes for the third straight game, and the fifth time this season.
- Washburn recorded five shots, while four were on target.
