MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Washburn junior guard
Jack Bachelor became just the second Ichabod men's basketball player to earn College Sports Communicators 2025-26 Academic All-America® honors joining Brady Skeens who was a two-time third team selection following the 2017 and 2018 season as he was announced as a third-team selection announced Tuesday.
This past season Bachelor started all 33 games scoring 15.5 ppg hitting 95 3-pointers leading the team with 151 assists. He was a first-team NABC all-district and first-team all-MIAA selection finishing ninth in the nation in assist to turnover ratio at 3.02 to 1. He also was a first-team D2CCA All-Region selection. Bachelor finished 24th in the nation in assists with 151, 11th in the nation in 3-pointers made with 95, which is third on the Ichabod single-season chart. He scored a career-high 27 points against Missouri Western in the MIAA Tournament semifinals hitting a career-best seven 3-pointers en route to MIAA Tournament MVP honors with other games of 24 and 14 also dishing out 22 assists with only two turnovers hitting 16 3's during the three games. Bachelor was also named to the Bevo Francis Final Top 25 Watch List as a top player in D2, D3 and NAIA. In the classroom, Bachelor was an CSC All-District selection as well as an MIAA Academic Scholar Athlete and MIAA Academic Honor Roll member.
The Ichabods recorded both the MIAA regular season and tournament championships finishing ranked No. 3 in the final NABC rankings with a 31-2 record after replacing four starters from the 2024-25 NCAA Final Four squad. The Ichabods finished the MIAA slate with an 18-1 record winning the league title by four games and the Ichabods also spent the entire season inside the top five of the NABC top 25 coaches poll including seven weeks at No. 1 in the rankings.
