KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn Ichabod softball team had 11 total student-athletes earn MIAA Academic Honors Roll accolades announced by the conference on Thursday. The Ichabods also earned five MIAA Scholar-Athletes and two MIAA Academic Excellence honorees.
The 10 Ichabods named to the MIAA Academic Honor were:
Dalaney Anderson (Elementary Education);
Erin Boles (Biology);
Karlyn Bowman (Biology);
Kate Dolan (Kinesiology);
Kate Ediger (Marketing);
Ashlyn Gaughan (Kinesiology);
Maddie McGee (Elementary Education);
Madi Moore (Integrated Studies);
Makenzie Sais (Forensic Investigation);
Danielle Schlader (Kinesiology) and
Sadie Walker (Nursing).
To be named to the Academic Honor Roll the student athlete must have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
Anderson, Ediger, Moore, Sais and Walker earned MIAA Scholar Athlete accolades after earning all-MIAA honors and recording at least a 3.5 or greater grade point average.
To earn the Academic Excellence Award a student-athlete must maintain a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Sais and Schlader each earned the honor.
Around the conference, 138 student-athlete earned Academic Honor Roll honors, with 36 being named Scholar-Athletes and 17 Academic Excellence recipients.
All freshmen and transfer student athlete award winners will be announced in a separate release later in the month.
