Six Ichabod mens student-athletes named cross country/track and field CSC All-District

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field and cross country team placed six student-athletes who received the 2026 CSC Academic All-District honors for the 2025-26 academic year announced by the College Sports Communicators. Honored this season were Gustavo Cadan, Jordan Dale, Sebastiaan Horselenberg, Jake Muller, Aaron Newcomer and Ian Suther.

Washburn received the maximum number of selections an institution can receive for cross country and track and field. The award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.
 
For potential selection to the Academic All-District Team, an individual must rank in the Top 50 of their region in a single event (cross country, indoor track and field or outdoor track and field), not including relay events. They must also be at least a sophomore in athletic eligibility and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Player capsules

Gustavo Cadan: Sat out the indoor season … competed in four events during the outdoor slate finishing sixth in the 110m hurdles at the Shocker Open with a personal best time of 14.28 as the second-best individual performance in program history … a member of the MIAA Academic and MIAA Academic Excellence honor rolls.

Jordan Dale: Competed in seven events during the season with two during the outdoor schedule … finished second at the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational clearing 2.12m (6-11.50) … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Sebastiaan Horselenberg: Competed in five events during the season playing 15th at the DBU Old Glory Gallop and earned honorable mention all-MIAA honors with a 17th-place finish at the MIAA Championships and earned all-region honors with his 22nd-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional helping squad to a second-place team finish … wrapped up the season with a 155th-place finish at the NCAA National Championships helping the Ichabods to a program-best 22nd-place finish overall … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll as well as an MIAA Scholar Athlete listing.

Jake Muller: Earned All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a fifth-place finish in the 400m hurdles … set the school record in the 400m hurdles at the PSU Almost Last Chance Invitational with a time of 51.33 … placed fourth at the MIAA Outdoor Championships and earned all-MIAA honors in teh 600y at the MIAA Indoor Championships after finishing third with a personal best and school record time of 1:10.39 … competed in 11 events overall tallying 22 top-10 finishes with four individual titles … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Aaron Newcomer: Completed in 12 events during the season recording a personal best in the indoor high jump at 2.07m (6-09.50) at the MIAA Championships finishing ninth … had nine top-10 finishes during the season  … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and MIAA Academic Excellence listing.

Ian Suther: Entered in four events during the outdoor season finishing a season-best fourth at the PSU Suenram Gorilla Classic with a school-record throw in the javelin of 60.60m (198-10) … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and the MIAA Academic Excellence listing.
